There’s a chipmunk in my toilet on Scary Mommy

As a former newspaper reporter, I like to believe I know a good story when I see one.
So, when a chipmunk ran inside my house on Sunday and jumped in my toilet, I felt it was my civic duty to make other people aware of the issue.
Little did I know I wasn’t the only one startled by miniature squirrels going for a swim in the bathroom. I put my investigative reporter skills to action and Googled the phrase “chipmunk in the toilet.”
It turns out, having a chipmunk in the toilet is an actual problem that real people have. This was not an isolated incident. Tiny little rodents who are too short to even see to the top of the toilet to know what’s beyond the big white rim, are somehow being propelled to leap into the air and land in toilets.
I wrote a blog post about my chipmunk encounter for Scary Mommy, a national web site with 4 million followers. I honestly didn’t know if the blog would even take the time to read my story. They warn in their guidelines that due to the large number of submissions, you might not hear back from them.
But I held out hope that I had at least a small advantage due to the title of my article, “There’s a chipmunk in the toilet.”
Today, they posted my hard-hitting, possibly life-changing (or at least funny) story!
Scary Mommy

If Scary Mommy sounds a bit frightening, don’t be alarmed by the name. The web site is “a community of millions of Scary Mommies supporting each other through laughter, empowerment, and the shared experience of motherhood.”
