We’re home!
I wanted to share a few images I took of the beautiful people of North Ghana. We made it home safely last night. Each day was absolutely packed from morning until night with experiences, people and learning.
We split our time between working at the OneWay Africa ministry center in the packed city of Accra and a whirlwind tour of village life in the north. I have so much to process that it’s hard to even put into words. I’m hoping to spend some time this week writing about our experiences.
Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for me or thought of me. I can’t believe how well I did despite very little sleep, new foods, lots of travel and extreme heat. I’m so thankful to God for giving me good health and strength.
I hope you can take a few minutes to look into these faces and think of people around the world who live in ways so different from ours here in America. We have so much to learn from them.

In many of the villages, it’s unusual to see visitors. The children would gather around to see us!
This woman was washing her clothes in a little lake. The rainy season just ended so they have more water than at other times of the year.
I love this woman’s smile.
We got to spend some time talking to this kind village chief. We needed to talk to him before entering the village.
This little girl is so beautiful in her bright head covering. The Muslim influence is strong in North Ghana.
People began gathering at 4 a.m. for a medial missions outreach in this community. The bus that was bringing supplies broke down and didn’t arrive until later in the afternoon. I loved how the babies were looking at each other.
We had the best time visiting this junior high school in a rural village in North Ghana. We led them in games, songs, Bible stories, encouragement and prayer. It was special for them to have visitors from so far away.
This is a common way to travel both in the city and out on the unpaved roads.
We loved spending time in this village. Their church meets under a tree, but they are building a church building.
