These are a few of my….
My friend, Lara, got me thinking this morning. She is writing blog posts every day this week promoting her new book, “Bucket List Living for Moms.”
I love Lara’s intentionality in living life. She is amazing at creating her “bucket list” of things she wants to accomplish and then making those things happen.
Personally, I’ve been struggling in that area the past few years. I feel like I’ve been living more in a swamp, focusing so much on the urgent that I’ve failed to be intentional about the important. I’m finally getting to a place where I’ve been taking some deliberate actions to regain my focus and even identify the direction I want my life to take. (That’s a potential blog post for another day!)
The topic for today is favorite things. Lara is asking moms if they can name theirs. (You should go read her whole blog post to understand the context.)
I started listing mine in the comments section of her post, and soon realized I could write my own blog post about my favorite things. I realized as I listed them that I’m quite loyal to my favorites. In most instances, I won’t be swayed from those preferences that top my lists!
Here are some that come to mind.

I love your list, Emily! It reminds me of all the reasons I think you’re awesome. I’m glad my post inspired you to write this and that doing so made you smile. Yay!
We share so many of the same favorites too (hot black tea & sweet tea, Hobby Lobby, the Silhouette, writing, Apple computers). So I think I need to try creme brulee now. 🙂
Thanks, Lara! It’s true that we do have lots of common interests! I think that’s why you are one of those people that I always feel like I can pick up with right where we left off. 🙂 I think creme brulee should be next on our bucket list of things to do together. 🙂
I had THE BEST time doing this!!! Thank you BOTH for the inspiration!!!!!
Sues, I agree that it was so fun to think about my favorite things! Why is that? I guess it’s kind of nice to take a minute to “tell” someone about all the things you love. I really enjoyed reading your list! Thanks for playing along!!
