Create a caramel apple bar
One of my favorite fall activities is to create a caramel apple bar. I try to choose at least one day that we can invite the kids’ friends to come over and decorate caramel apples. Or we have done this with our growth group as the evening snack.

A caramel apple bar is super easy to throw together, and it’s a great way to celebrate fall.
Here’s what you need to create a caramel apple bar:
- Lots of apples! It’s especially fun to do this after a trip to the apple orchard.
- Caramels. We like to melt the real ones in a sauce pan.
- Sticks. You can either buy popsicle sticks, or if you can’t find them, a skewer for kabobs will work, as well.
- Toppings. We typically use dark chocolate, white chocolate, mini M&Ms, crunched up Heath bars and crushed OREOs.

We unwrap the caramels and melt them according to the package directions.

Let everyone choose an apple and dip it in the caramel. Each person can add his or her own toppings, making the apples as extravagant as they would like.
*
If they want to make an extra apple or two to take home, we label each stick with their name on Washi tape.
