My favorite photos from 2020

As I look back at 2020, here are 10 of my favorite outdoor images that I was able to capture with my camera.

Photography for me is like a little treasure hunt.

It helps motivate me to go outside no matter the weather.

And it totally changes my perspective when I am actively looking for the beauty to photograph in the most ordinary locations on the most average days.

Because I live in an area that might be considered bland and boring — we don’t have mountains or oceans or interesting terrain — I love the challenge to see the beauty that’s all around me.

If I’ve learned anything in 2020, it’s that I shouldn’t take for granted a single day of life.

No matter how extreme the challenges of this year, going outside and noticing nature helped me keep my sanity.

As life slowed down for humans, nature seemed to respond by offering a year of amazing weather.

You really can find beauty in the every day if you just look for it.
